Developmental Editing/ Copy Editing

My background in English language and counseling makes for the perfect combination for developmental editing. Creating characters that feel real is my favorite part of writing any book. In my own writing, a spend a lot of time on this step and I would love to help you with this as well. When I do developmental editing, I have a difficult time separating the process from copy editing. So, expect me to make comments and suggestions to your sentences such as grammar corrections, word usage, and more.

My rate is $0.012- $0.015 per word
Quotes depend on the turn-around requested. The normal turn-around for me is one month.
I am not a good fit for Christian fiction, picture books, or non-fiction. If you aren't sure if your project would be a good fit or not, fill out the form below.
Payment will be accepted via PayPal in 3 installments, the first being the day editing begins.
My Process
Step 1: Booking Your Project
Fill out the form below to receive a quote for your project. Make sure to include all the information requested. After receiving your quote, we will decide on a date to begin work.
Step 2: Work Begins
On the first day of work, I will send a PayPal invoice for the first of three installments. To get this invoice, you will need to provide your phone number, email, and address in order to create an account. Once you have paid and emailed your manuscript in a Word Document, the editing period will begin. The second installment of the payment will be sent halfway into the editing process.
Step 3: Finishing Work
On the final day of work, you will receive an invoice for the final installment. Once you have paid, I will email your manuscript back to you with comments, a separate page of my notes and suggestions, and a critique of your book's blurb if you provided one.
Please keep in mind that all of my comments and suggestions are just that. You do not have to agree or make changes to your manuscript if you don't want you. This is your right as the author. Disagreeing with my comments and suggestions does not entitle you to a refund for the service provided.
Why Work With Me?
I have a B.A. in English with an M.A. in School Counseling and am currently working on getting certified as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Writing is my favorite activity and studying English language and literature has enabled me to better craft my own stories as well as look at others with a critical eye. My background in psychology has been essential in bringing my characters to life and creating characters with depth and realistic motivations and traits.
