Services Offered
Developmental Editing, Copy Editing, and Proofreading!

My background in English language and counseling makes for the perfect combination for developmental editing. Creating characters that feel real is my favorite part of writing any book. In my own writing, I spend a lot of time on this step and I would love to help you with this as well. When I do developmental editing, I have a difficult time separating the process from copy editing. So, expect me to make comments and suggestions to your sentences such as grammar corrections, word usage, and more.

When copy editing, I'll look deeper at your sentences, the style of your writing, and make sure that your words flow consistently and clearly for your readers. I check grammar, spelling, dialogue tags, and make sure you stay in the same POV/tense and that you avoid repeating words and phrases.
In the proofreading stage, I'll take a look at your final manuscript to make sure that typography, interior formatting, grammar, and spelling are all set for publication day. In this stage, I do a final sweep for anything amiss (like a quick copy edit) and look at the book as a whole to ensure that your final file can be uploaded without any issues.

My rate is $0.012- $0.015 per word
Rate depends on turnaround requested. A normal turn around for me is 6 weeks.
Copy Editing

My rate is $0.010- $0.013 per word
Rate depends on turnaround requested. A normal turn around for me is 4 weeks.
Proofreading

How do you format your manuscript for an editor or agent?
My Process
Step 1: Booking Your Project
Fill out the form below to receive a quote for your project. Make sure to include all the information requested. After receiving your quote, we will decide on a date to begin work. Note: payment is in 3 installments!
Step 2: Work Begins
On the first day of work, I will send an invoice for the first of three installments. Once you have paid and emailed your manuscript in a Word Document or Google Document, the editing period will begin. The second installment of the payment will be sent halfway into the editing process.
Step 3: Finishing Work
On the final day of work, you will receive an invoice for the final installment. Once you have paid, I will email your manuscript back to you with comments and a critique of your book's blurb if you provided one.
Please keep in mind that all of my comments and suggestions are just that. You do not have to agree or make changes to your manuscript if you don't want to. This is your right as the author. Disagreeing with my comments and suggestions does not entitle you to a refund for the service provided. To get the most out of your money and our time working together, self-edit your manuscript to the best of your ability before beginning the editing contract. This will allow me to dive deeper into your manuscript and spend less time on the small things that you might have the skills to catch yourself.
Why Work With Me?
I have a B.A. in English with an M.A. in School Counseling and am currently working on getting certified as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Writing is my favorite activity and studying English language and literature has enabled me to better craft my own stories as well as look at others with a critical eye. My background in psychology has been essential in bringing my characters to life and creating characters with depth and realistic motivations and traits.
